ऑफीसमध्ये मोबाईल नेट बंदी

‘अरे थांब बॉस आहे नंतर पींग करते..., वेट फॉर वाईल ही इज हीअर... अरे सॉलिड लोचा झालायं रे आमच्या ऑफीसमध्ये जॅमर लावण्याच मेल आलाय आता नो मोबाईल इंटरनेट दीवसभर ऑफलाईनच रहावे लागणार असे दीसतेय. मागील काही दिवसापासून ऑफीसला जाणा-या नेटक-यांच्या संवादत ही वाक्ये येऊ लागली आहेत. कारण आता अनेक ऑफीसेसने आपल्या कर्मचा-यांचा प्रोडक्टीव्ह वेळ मोबाईलवरील व्हॅट्सअॅप चॅट, फेसबूक आणि सर्फींगमध्ये जाऊन नये यासाठी सेटिंग लावण्यास सुरवात केली आहे. मोबाईल जॅमरच्या पर्यायामुळे अनेकांचा ऑनलाइन राहण्याचा ‘लोच्या’ होणार आहे.

कंप्यूटरनंतर आता मोबाईल नेट बंदी?
ज्यावेळी भारतामध्ये फेसबुकचे फॅड होते त्यावेळी २०१०पासून कंपन्यांनी ऑफीसेसमधून सोशलनेटवर्कींग साईट्सचा अॅक्सेस बॅन केला होता. गुगलने गुगल प्लस सर्वीस सुरु केल्यापासून अनेक कंपन्यांनी तर गुगलचे सर्व्हरही बॅन केले आहेत. मात्र मागील वर्षभराच्या काळात स्वत आणि मस्त स्मार्टफोन सर्वाच्याच खिशात दिसू लागल्याने ऑफीसच्या कंप्यूटरवरुन होणार सर्फिंग अगदीच पर्सनल लेव्हलवर मोबाईलवरुन होऊ लागले आहेत. काही हजारात उपलब्ध होणारे मोबाईल, स्वस्त: इंटरनेट प्लॅन्स अनेक ऑफीसेसमध्ये असणारे फ्री वायफाय यामुळे अनेकांचा ऑफीसच्या वेळेतील मैल्यावान वेळ पर्सनल चॅटसाठी जाऊ लागला.

काय उपाय केले आहेत कंपन्यांनी

सरेंडर मोबाईल – काही कंपन्यांमध्ये वर्कींग डेक्सवर जाण्याआधी आपला मोबाईल सरेंडर करण्यासाठी ऑफीसच्या प्रवेशद्वरातच काऊण्टर असून कामाच्या वेळेत मोबाईल सरेंडर करावा लागतो. आठ तासाच्या कामानंतर तो मोबाईल परत करण्यात येतो. मात्र अनेकदा महत्वाचे कॉल मिस होत असल्याने कर्मचा-यांना ही पद्धत सोयीस्कर वाटत नाही.

मोबाईल जॅमर- कॉलेजमधील वर्गामध्ये लावण्यात येणा-या जॅमरप्रमाणे अनेक ऑफीसेसने मोबाईल जॅमबद्दल विचार करण्यास सुरुवात केली आहे. काही ठिकाणी जॅमर लावण्यात आले असून हे जॅमर दोनप्रकारचे असतात. एकाप्रकारेमध्ये फक्त इंटरनेट ब्लॅक करण्यात येते तर काही ठिकाणी मोबाईलच्या सिमची रेंजच ब्लॅक करण्यात येते. मात्र इंटरनेट ब्लॉकचा पर्यायामुळे फोन कॉल्स आणि मेसेजची अडचण येत नसल्याने या पर्याय लवकरच सर्व ऑफीसेसमध्ये वापरण्यात येण्याची शक्यता आहे.

ओन्ली बेसीक फोन्स
अनेक कंपन्यांनी जॅमरचा खर्चीक पर्यायाला उपाय म्हणून कर्मचा-यांनी कामावर येताना मोबाईल फोन आणल्यास तो बेसीक मोबाईल फोन असावा अशी अट घातली आहे. सुरक्षेच्या दृष्टीने कॅमेरा नसलेले मोबाईल अणण्याची अटही या कंपन्यांना उपयोगी ठरत आहे. अनेक कॅमेरा नसणा-या मोबाईलमध्ये इंटरनेटची सुविधाच नसल्याने जॅमरचा खर्च येत नाही.

वायफाय बंद
मोबाईलवरुन ऑफीसची कामे करता येईल या दृष्टीने देऊ केलेल्या वायफायवरुन व्हॅट्सअॅप आणि फेसबुकचा जास्त वापर करुन लागल्याने अनेक कंपन्याने मोफत वायफाय बंद तर केले आहेच त्याशिवाय इंटरनेट रेंजवर बंदी घालण्यासाठी जॅमर लावण्याच्या निर्णयापर्यंत येऊन पोहचले आहेत.

आता कर्मचा-यांवर ऑफीसेसने ही सोशल बंदी घालण्याचे ठरवले असले तरी ती कितपत टिकतेय हे अत्ताच सांगणे कठीण आहे. पण तुम्हाला या बद्दल काय वाटते ही बंदी असावी का? एखादी व्यक्ती आपले काम पूर्ण करुन जर थोडावेळ मोबाईलवर चॅठ करत असेल तर त्यात चुक काय? म्हणजे कर्मचा-यांनी काम ठेऊन टाईमपास केल्यास त्यांच्यावर कारवाई होणे योग्यच आहे मात्र सरसकट बंदी किती योग्य आहे?

फेसबूकवरील व्हर्च्युअल आयडेंटीटी सुसाईड

तारीख ३१ मे २०१० अमेरीकेतील ३३ हजार फेसबूक युझर्सने क्विट फेसबूक डेच्या निमीत्ताने एकाच दिवशी कायमचे लॉग आऊट म्हणत व्हर्च्युअल आयडेंटीटी सुसाईड केला. एका दिवसात दिवसामध्ये इतका मोठ्या प्रमाणात फेसबूक यूझर्सने अकाऊण्ट डिलीट करण्याची ही पहिलीच वेळ असावी. मात्र त्यानंतर अनेकदा अनेकांनी आपल्या मित्रमैत्रिणींसह फेसबूकला एकाच वेळी टाटा बाय बाय म्हटले आहे. पण का?

व्हर्च्युअल आयडेंटीटी सुसाईड म्हणजे नेमकी काय?

फेसबुक अकाऊण्ट सुरु केल्यानंतर व्यक्ती स्वत:ला फेसबुकच्यामाध्यमातून व्हर्च्युअल जगासमोर सादर करते. मग तेथे पोस्ट होणारी स्टेटस, फोटो, फ्रेण्डलिस्ट यावरुन त्याच व्हर्च्युअल प्लॅटफॉर्मवरील लोक त्या व्यक्तीला जज करतात. त्यानुसार प्रत्येकाची व्हर्च्युअल इमेज तयार होते. मात्र अनेक वर्षापासून रोज उठून कंप्यूटर स्क्रीन समोर बसून तेच तेच करण्याचा तरुणाईला कंटाळा येऊ लागला आहे. एका लाईकने किंवा कमेन्टने अपसेट होणारा मू़ड, सारखा सारखा बदलणारा फेसबुक इंटरफेझ, प्राव्हसी सेटिंग संभाळताना करावी लागणारी कसरत या पासून ते अगदी इतर मित्रांनी अकाऊण्ट डिलीट केले म्हणून करण्यापर्यंत अनेक कारणांनी लाखोच्या संख्येत लोक फेसबूकवरुन कायमची एक्झीट घेत आहेत. एकट्याने किंवा एखाद्या ग्रुपने सर्वानुमते एकाच वेळी फेसबुक क्विट करण्याच्या याच ट्रेण्डला व्हर्च्युअल आयडेंटीटी सुसाईड असे म्हणतात. सध्या अनेक देशात हा ट्रेण्ड इन आहे.

मागील दोन वर्षापासून सुरु असणारा हा ट्रेण्ड सध्या जरी भारतात दिसून येत नसला तरी लवकरच असे व्हर्च्युअल आयडेंटीटी सुसाईड किंवा सोशल नेटवर्किंग सुसाईडचे प्रमाण वाढण्याची शक्यात नाकारता येणारा नाही असे चित्र दिसत आहे. अमेरीका आणि युके मध्ये सप्टेंबर महिन्यात सादर केलेल्या अहवालानुसार १ कोटी १० लाख युझर्सने फेसबूककडे कायमची पाठ फिरवली असून लवकरच हा ट्रेण्ड जगभरात दिसून येणार आहे.

व्हर्च्युअल आयडेंटीटी सुसाईडची महत्वाची कारणे

अमेरीकेतील गुप्तहेर यंत्रणा इंटरनेटवरील डेटावर गुप्त पद्धतीने लक्ष ठेवत असल्याचे समोर आल्यानंतर अनेकांनी फेसबूकवरुन आपली खासगी माहिती सरकार आणि जगापासून लपवण्यासाठी जवळ जवळ ५० टक्के लोकांनी प्राव्हसीचे कारण देत अकाऊण्ट डिलीट केले आहेत.

सतत फेसबुकवर बसण्याच्या सवयीमुळे आपल्याला इंटरनेटचे व्यसन लागण्याची भीती असल्याने इंटरनेटपासून चार हात लांब राहण्यासाठी अनेकांनी फेसबूक अकाऊण्ट डिलीट केले आहे.

त्यापाठोपाठ फेसबूकचा वाईट कस्टमर सपोर्ट, वारंवार बदलणारा इंटरफेस, अती जाहीरांचा सतत होणारा मारा यामुळे लोकांनी फेसबुक सोडले आहे.

व्हर्च्युअल आयडेंटीटी सुसाईडचा वाढता ट्रेण्ड पाहून अनेक वेबसाईट्सने फेसबूकवरील माहिती लोकांपासून लपवून ठेवण्यासाठी अॅप्सही उपलब्ध करुन दिले आहेत. सुसाईड मशीन, सेपुकुसारख्या अॅप्समुळे तुमच्या फेसबुकवरील खासगी माहिती, फ्रेण्डलीस्ट, फोटो आणि तुमचे अकाऊण्ट लोकांना अॅक्सेस करता येणार नाही अशी सोय करुन देण्यात आली आहे.

भारतात काय स्थिती

भारतातील स्मार्टफोनची संख्या वाढत असल्याने सध्यातरी भारतातील अॅक्टीव्ह युझर्सची संख्या वाढत असली तरी काही हा ट्रेण्ड बदलू शकतो. सध्या पालकांचा फेसबूकवरील उपस्थीतीमुळे अनेकजण फेसबूक लॉगइन करणे टाळत असल्याचा ट्रेण्ड भारतात दिसून येत आहे. हर्चूअल आयजेन्टीटी सुसाईड ही त्याचीच पुढील पायरी असू शकते.

तुमच्यापैकी कोणाला कधी असे वाटले आहे का करावे एकदाचे अकाऊण्ट डिलीट आणि पुन्हा पहिल्यासारखे जगावे? इंटरनेटच्या या मायाजाळातून कायमचे बाहेर पडावे? व्हच्यूअल जगण्यापेक्षा ख-याखु-या आयुष्यात ख-याखु-या माणसांना आपला वेळ द्यावा?

It's E-ndependence day, not Independence Day

I know 15th August is gone. But I had this on my mind since yesterday and I finally got a chance to express what I felt.

So we celebrated Independence Day finally. Not by attending morning march or saluting the Tiranga but by sharing status updates, tagging friends on flag photos, adding India badge on display pictures, changing cover photos etc. I mean to say we celebrated E-ndependence day instead of Independence Day.

My 67^th Independence day started with friend tagged me on some Indian flag photo with quote saying ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ & this was around 12:03 am. Much like celebrating a midnight birthday! So I could guess that was going to be a slim chance for my friend to be there for  flag hosting  early in the morning on college ground. But this midnight independence tag led me thinking.. Oh gosh thanks there was no Facebook in 1947 otherwise imagine what could our history books read like...

‘Sharp at zero hours when rest of the world was in deep sleep first prime minister of India Mr. Jawharlal Nehru stated tagging each & every National Congress man in his status update saying ‘At the stroke of midnight hour, when the world sleeps after Internet slowdown, India will awake to life and freedom. - feeling excited’ within no time it got thousands of LIKES & SHARE. Top trend on Twitter was observed as #indianindependence #birthofthenation. More than thousand twitters were recorder on this historic night. In the morning Nehru posted the YouTube link of his speech from his FB account along with the Tweet at same time.’

Seriously my whole day went just by clicking ‘hide this photo from profile’ option. It seems like it's a half yearly tradition to show Indian patriotism on Social networking. 26^th January & 15^th August are the most (Online) Patriotic days. We should thank our great grandfather & grandfather’s generation for giving us two opportunities to show our love towards the nation. Most funny part is this wave of Love for motherland doesn’t even last for more than 24 hours. Raat gayi baat gayi.   

As usual tradition goes “UNESCO Chooses Indian National Anthem as Best in the World”, Nation Anthem & National Song (राष्ट्रगीत और राष्ट्रगान) debates were some of the most popular topics of the I-day. Another attraction this year was we want Indian flag on Whatsapp message.

This Online Day celebration trend is not new of us. We have explained how much we love our Father, Mother, Sister, Brother & friend on Father’s day, Mother’s day, Sister’s day, Brother’s day & friendship day respectively. We like to express our love for people who live under the same roof with us on social networking sites. Yeah, it's a strange truth.

While closing this topic as I know there will be not much time you have to read my post some people enjoyed the real I-day offline. The best example was one of my colleagues told me how patriotic he felt when he was offered a special lunch with Tiranga rice, Tiranga Puri & tri color sweets in our pantry as I-day special lunch. (That’s the plus point of being on a job when rest of the country is on a holiday).

Mobile phones getting smarter, People .... Not so...

We all live in a smart world, at least in terms of technology we do. With all these latest gadgets mobile phones, tablets, laptops our lives have become a lot simpler the world a lot smaller and people a lot closer (though in relative terms).

However speaking in much more clearer terms, the technology has got smart, but the people using it not so, a clear evidence would be in ourselves, we take a lot of time, infact sometimes we need the help of calculators to do some simple mathematical calculations, where as if we give that same question to our parents they can solve it with relative ease.

If you search the net, you would come across data which would suggest that Indian have IQ in the range of 80 to 85 Americans’ around 98 and Japan at 107, it would come as a surprise to you that even Iraq’s avg IQ is better than India’s . Although I wouldn’t count on those numbers, but when I look at my friends I sometimes feel that these numbers are right.

But who should we blame for such a low average? Which, apparently denote our smartness,Well if you ask me, I won’t sweat on it much, cause 1^st it’s just a number, and numbers can’t dictate your life, Unless those numbers are on your pay check. And 2^nd these studies are conducted by people who have no idea of what India really is, It’s place where jugad plays an important role.

Anyways getting back to the topic, the reason why I say that people are not getting smart is because we are getting lazy. I mean think of it, if you have a tiny hand held device that can do all your work for you, that is remind you of important dates, keep a track of your schedules you have a lot of time in your hand that you can spend on Facebook, Twitter, or in my case just write a blog.

If you ask me which examples would you give? I can give you examples with categories

·         Politicians: gone are the days of chacha Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi, gone are the days of Iron lady of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi they were true politicians who thought of the nation, and now, their own generation Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi ... Hmm No more explanation required.

·         Musicians: Kishore kumar, R.D burman, Michael Jackson etc, these musicians were not just talented but they commanded respect, and who are we stuck with today? Justin beiber, lyl wayne, himesh reshamya not disrespect to them, but I think you get my point.

The list can be endless, you yourself can put many names to these category, perhaps even add more.

Now what’s my point in writing this piece of article, It’s just a statement that “It’s not the people who are getting idiotic, but it’s the technology that’s getting smarter and since we don’t like people to people interactions anymore atleast not face to face, we generalise everyone as ... “woh toh yeda hai ... kuch kaam ka nahi”

With this I end my article with a statement “I am proud to be a not so smart person, atleast I am smart enough to choose humans over technology”

Your jeans are getting SMART thanks to your Smartphone!

I was standing in door of the train… watching rain drops dripping from the door frame… suddenly a voice brought me back from my world of imagination. The mechanical voice said ‘पुढील स्थानक दादर... अगला स्थानक दादर… Next Station Dadar.’ So I just adjust myself for what is about to happen in the next few seconds. Even before train stops people enter the train in the “THIS IS SPARTAAAA!!” momentum… before I could balance myself the boy next to me started making MJ moves all of a suddeen. While I was figuring out what got into him, I saw him pull out his smartphone from his pocket.

This was when the random idea of smart pants hit me. In that crowd train where each & everyone were posing as any statue in museums, I began day dreaming. I could see a full scope of starting a social movement against normal pants. I could see rally and hear slogans in my head demanding for pockets that would hold these gigantic phones.  ‘Give us justice! We want justice! We want smart pants! We want smart pocket pants! Give us justice! We want justice! …

After this incidence while going home I observed many people who pulled out their smartphone from their trousers or jeans. Some of them were comfortable with it but few of them kept struggling at it. I was observing this with such concentration that I thought I would soon become a self trained pickpocketer.

When I got off, I went to the tailor to ask about this pocket secret & then I came to know something which I named ‘SMART POCKET.’ The new fashion trend in clothing (basically men’s wear but it can be in ladies fashion industry) where the pockets of jeans & trousers are purposefully stitched big in size just to fit your mobile which is nearly equal to standard sized tablet. So I don’t know have you ever noticed or not but your pockets are getting bigger & bigger just to take care & give more space to your smartphone.

Once there was a time when you had to literally dance or exercise to pull out your cell phones even though they were small in size. Most of the time this attempts resulted in dissection of phone at public places like bus stop, colleges where SIM goes in north… cell body in east… battery in third direction… Even though you managed to pull it out in single piece it becomes too late & you will have missed the call. But now this is all history thanks to your SMART clothing. Most of us are not aware about this change but now demand of these big pockets is rising & tailors are demanding extra money for modifying this ‘Anndar ki baat’. Most of the people are unaware about this mind blowing phenomenon. But as history says man learns from his mistake (women don’t learn from their mistake I guess) the same logic goes for this awareness.

Are stretchable jeans a byproduct of technological revolution?
According to some shopkeepers in Thane the demand of Stretchable jeans had increased from past few months. Big size mobile phones & cheap rates are two important reasons for this they answered while giving insides of this trend. These jeans are skin fitting but they have great flexibility so you can easily keep your cell phone in it. ‘Sahab ye Kapda sasta ho ta hai par jada tikta hai’ (the garment used for this jeans is cheap but it sustains for a long period of time) is answer of Kumar Clothing center’s manager while talking about this new trend. Cheap Techno savvy & with latest fashion TAG this jeans are on high priority of must buy things for gen X.
